Exhibitions for your Autumn in Venice

Autumn arrived in Venice, the weather is now chilly, days are shorter... the perfect time of the year to spend your day around exhibitions. We picked up a few which we think may perfectly complete your stay in Venice!

At Peggy Guggenheim collection you have the chance to attend Marchel Duchamp and the seduction of the copy,  organized by Paul B. Franklin; the exhibition shows Duchamp's approach on the idea itself of a copy, as well as a retrospective on the long friendship between the artist and Peggy Guggenheim herself. The exhibition is on until the 18th March 2024 and the  museum is open everyday from 10am to 6pm, except on Tuesdays and Christmas day.

At Ca' Pesaro you can admire, from the 21st October and until the 1st April 2024, The nineteenth century Venetian portrait, curated by Elisabetta Barisoni and Roberto De Feo. This collection aims to recreate the original exhibition from 1923 by Nino Barbantini, who had the first idea of showing, through portraits by several artists like Hayez, Molmenti, Grigoletti, Schiavoni, Lipparini and others, the zeitgeist of the first century of the contemporary era. The museum is open everyday from 10am to 5pm, except on Mondays.

The Accademia displays a marvellous exhibition about the origins of Tiziano: Tiziano 1508. at the beginning of a luminous career. Curated by Roberta Battaglia, Sarah Ferrari and Antonio Mazzotta, the selection of works shows how young Tiziano was able to absorb the influences from the main masters of the time to create a unique, Venetian, figurative language.

It's still possible to attend, at the Glass Museum in Murano, the great exhibition about the 100 years of Nason Moretti - history of a family into Muran glass. The chance to discover, through their most famous products, mainly focused on the art de la table, the impact and the creativity of one of the most important glass makers in Murano. The exhibition is on until the 6th January 2024 and the museum is open everyday from 10am to 6pm.

If you wish to expand your tours to the mainland, M9 museum in Mestre shows Chagall. The colour of dreams, until the 13th February 2024. Curated by Elisabetta Barisoni, the exhibition collects works from the permanent collection in Ca' Pesaro, together with other important masterpieces lent by other museums in Nice, Vienna, Budapest and Jerusalem. The museum is open everyday from 10am to 7pm, except on Mondays.
